Bengaluru News: The incident of mobile tower theft has again come to the fore in Bengaluru. A mobile tower of a private firm has been stolen in Rajajinagar, North Bengaluru. The surprising thing is that both these mobile towers belonged to the same company and the complainant is also the same. The theft of a mobile tower was first reported from Mahadevapura in Whitefield division in Bengaluru. A few days later, now the incident of mobile tower theft has come to light in Rajajinagar, North Bengaluru. Interestingly, in both the cases the complainant is the same. The complainants work in a private firm and maintain different mobile towers.
The first complaint was lodged at the Mahadevapura police station. At the same time, the latest case has been registered in Subramanyanagar police. The complainant stated that unknown persons have stolen the mobile tower at Rajajinagar during three years i.e. from 2019 to 2022. This mobile tower was 50 feet tall, weighing 10 tons and 200 feet high.
But now it has come to know that in reality only one mobile tower has been stolen and whose complaint has been registered twice. Let’s know what is the whole matter?
Know about mobile theft incident?
On January 1, the complainant first approached the police and said that miscreants stole a tower, diesel generator and battery bank from Goshala Road, Garudcharpalya in Mahadevapura. As per the complaint, the theft took place between August 1 and September 1, 2022, and the value of the stolen towers and related material was Rs 17 lakh.
After contacting the police, the complainant approached the court in the matter seeking its intervention in registering the FIR.
Based on a private complaint report (PCR), the Subramanyanagar police registered an FIR under IPC section 379 (theft) on January 18. The executive said, “The mobile tower was installed at 1 Block, Rajajinagar in 2010. It was given on lease to a private cellular firm. However, the firm closed its business during 2017. had planned. But we could not visit the tower due to various reasons including the corona pandemic between 2019 and 2021. On May 5, 2022 we visited the spot and found that the tower was stolen along with the items. The cost of these items Around 16 lakh rupees.
What did the police say on the whole matter?
A police officer investigating said that this is a rare case and there are many questions that we do not have answers to yet. We have sought clarification from the complainant and he is taking time to respond to them. Once that reply is received, we will decide the future course of action. Another official said that “These towers will be at least 50 feet high and weigh more than 10 tonnes. It requires technical knowledge and sufficient time to destroy them.”
