On Tuesday, Salim Merchant tweeted after the incident and shared a picture of himself and Sidhu Musewala and said that a song of both of them was going to be released very soon. Salim Merchant wrote in his tweet, ‘I am in shock and very sad after hearing this news. Sidhu was a gem…very soon our song was about to release…it’s absolutely unbelievable.’

‘Afsana told a lot about Sidhu’

According to the news of Hindustan Times, Salim Merchant said on this incident, ‘I cannot believe that this has happened. Sidhu was a great person, such a person with a very big heart, whom everyone respected. He used to treat everyone very lovingly. I met Sidhu in the month of October last year. I was working with Afsana Khan on an independent project and she told a lot about Sidhu.

‘It will be great if Sidhu sings this song’

Salim Merchant further said, ‘Afsana insisted that I and Sidhu Musewala should work together. Ittefaq se I had a song at that time, which was a Punjabi song with a rustic feel. I also thought it would be great if Sidhu sings this song, so I came to Chandigarh and met him here.

Due to these reasons the release of the song was postponed

Regarding Sidhu Musewala, Salim Merchant said, ‘We were supposed to release this song only last year after recording, but then the election dates were announced and Sidhu got busy in it. And, because of this the release of our song got postponed. After the elections, both of us were busy with our other work, so the release of the song got delayed. And finally, we both decided to release the song in June next month.

These artists also expressed grief over the death of Sidhu

Salim Merchant said, ‘I had a show in Delhi on Saturday and after the show I was working on his song in my hotel room as there was only two weeks left for the release.’ Let us tell you that apart from Salim Merchant, big actors like Vicky Kaushal, Ranveer Singh, Shahnaz Gill, Ashok Pandit and Mika Singh have mourned the killing of Sidhu Musewali.
