TRS will give ‘weapon’ to 2,000 social media warriors in Telangana

Hyderabad, 17 June.
To counter the stigma campaign of opposition parties, TRS is planning to engage around 2,000 social media warriors across the state. As part of strengthening social media teams – from mandal level to state level – the ruling party has decided to train youth on social media.

The focus will be on how to respond to social media posts on various issues and give wide publicity to the welfare schemes being implemented by the state government. The TRS has already roped in Indian Political Action Committee (IPAC) political strategist Prashant Kishor, who has explained how the party is lagging in social media presence. TRS working president KT Rama Rao also agreed that the time has come for the party to focus on social media as young voters use it extensively.

A Telangana Digital Media official said, “We have written to YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and WhatsApp to remove the content and stop such postings. For this, TRS is planning to engage around 2,000 social media warriors across the state.
