Telangana state’s unique midwifery initiative, which was launched to encourage dignified and natural deliveries in government hospitals, received appreciation from UNICEF India on Friday. UNICEF, India on Friday shared on Twitter a picture of a newborn baby who was delivered safely by a mother with the help of midwives at a regional hospital in Hyderabad.
UNICEF India’s Twitter handle tweeted, ‘Pictured moments after birth with the help of midwives at Hyderabad Area Hospital, Telangana. Telangana is a flag bearer for midwifery in India, working towards dignified maternity care and a positive birth experience for mothers.’
