University of Chicago Trust team met Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik

On Tuesday, a team from University of Chicago Trust, India met Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and also discussed collaboration with DPIC (Data, Policy and Innovation Centre) and Odisha government. Those who called on the Chief Minister included Professor Michael Kramer, Executive Director Benjamin Krause and Executive Director of Development Innovation Lab and University of Chicago Trust Dr. Lenny Chowdhary.

The meeting was attended by Secretary to Chief Minister (5T) VK Pandya and Principal Secretary, E&IT Department, Manoj Mishra. Funded by the Government of Odisha, DPIC will help enable evidence-based governance using new advances in econometrics, data science and machine learning.

Earlier today, the University of Chicago Trust, India team held a preparatory meeting with Secretaries of Department of Health & Family Welfare, Department of E&IT, Department of School and Mass Education regarding setting up of DPIC. The panel held a discussion towards understanding the development needs and priorities of each department with a broad background of Odisha’s development needs.
