New Delhi, June 22: Violence took place in many districts of Uttar Pradesh after Nupur Sharma’s statement. Following which the administration allegedly cracked down on the houses of the masterminds of the riots and demolished them, calling them illegal constructions. After which Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind had moved the Supreme Court. Now the UP government has also filed its reply regarding this petition. Also, the action of demolishing the house was justified.
The UP government told the Supreme Court that recently some properties in the state were demolished. This action was taken following due process. It had nothing to do with taking action against the persons accused of rioting. The government has taken action against the rioters according to different laws. Apart from this, the UP government has told the Supreme Court that the petitioner Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind has selected media reports and the allegations leveled by him are false. The UP government has also urged the court to dismiss this petition.
