PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the Bengaluru-Mysore Highway in Karnataka a few days back. This highway built at a cost of crores was exposed when the road was completely submerged after heavy rains in Ramnagar area of the state on Friday night. Commuters had to face a lot of difficulties due to waterlogging on the road.
Waterlogging on the highway costing Rs 8,480 crore
In fact, waterlogging near Bengaluru’s neighboring Ramanagara district on the highway built at a cost of about Rs 8,480 crore threw life out of gear. Water-logging of the underbridge on the highway led to a long line of bumper-to-bumper accidents, leading to prolonged traffic jams on the highway due to slow movement of vehicles.
Passengers created ruckus due to damage to vehicles
Meanwhile, some distressed commuters created a ruckus over damage to their vehicles, and asked Chief Minister BS Bommai and the Prime Minister, ‘Is the highway ready for inauguration? According to the report of NDTV, a passenger while talking to the media said, ‘My Maruti Swift car was half submerged in the underbridge filled with water, after which the car stopped, and a lorry coming from behind hit my car. bumped into Who will be held responsible for this?

He said, ‘I am requesting Chief Minister Bommai to get my car repaired. PM Modi inaugurated the highway, did he get his road and transport ministry to check whether the road is ready for inauguration? Should we suffer for vote bank politics? Nagaraju, another angry pedestrian, said that his vehicle was the worst hit in the bumper-to-bumper accidents. He questioned who would be held responsible for the accidents.
Nagaraju told that after the rains water started filling in the underbridge, many accidents were reported. Earlier my vehicle had met with an accident. What followed was a series of bumper-to-bumper accidents, involving seven to eight vehicles. There is no place for water to go out. Who is responsible for it?’
