Visa scam: Shashi Tharoor writes to Om Birla in Karti Chidambaram case

New Delhi, 31st May: Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has written a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Tuesday in the Karti Chidambaram case. He has written to Om Birla on the breach of privileges of the committee involved in the seizure of papers from Congress MP Karti Chidambaram in the alleged visa scam case.

At the same time, earlier Karti Chidambaram had also written a letter to Om Birla in the Chinese visa scam case. Recently, CBI and ED raids were conducted on the premises of Congress MP Karti Chidambaram. During this, the investigation team seized many documents while interrogating him. Due to which angry Karti Chidambaram wrote a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. Along with this, a complaint was made against the inquiry of CBI.

Karti Chidambaram claims that his parliamentary privileges were grossly violated by the CBI during his interrogation and raids. Talking to the media, he said that I have written to the Speaker of the Lok Sabha that the CBI has committed a grave violation of parliamentary privileges. The papers of my parliamentary committee which pertain to the IT committee were confiscated during the search. These are confidential papers related to parliamentary proceedings, which no one has the right to take.

The CBI was already investigating the matter. In which some important evidence related to money laundering was found. After which the Enforcement Directorate also swung into action and registered a case under the Money Laundering Act. Now efforts are being made to find out which officials had taken bribe in the visa scam.
