Vlogger abusing CM Mamata Banerjee in Facebook Live arrested from Goa

Kolkata, 07 June: Vlogger Roddur Roy was arrested from Goa on Tuesday for abusing Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her nephew, TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee, during a Facebook Live over singer KK’s death. During a Facebook Live session, Roddur Roy had blamed the ruling TMC for mismanagement at KK’s last concert at Nazrul Manch.
TMC spokesperson had lodged a written complaint against him at Chitpur police station in Kolkata. A Kolkata police officer was quoted as saying by PTI, “Vlogger Roddur Roy was arrested by our officers in Goa this afternoon. He will be brought to Kolkata on transit remand. Our officers will produce him in a local court there for remand.” “Roy’s Facebook Live video has been removed from the social networking site.
Roddur Roy had blamed the ruling party for alleged mismanagement at the concert of singer KK along with other TMC leaders like Firhad Hakim and Madan Mitra besides CMs Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek. Singer KK complained of chest pain during a concert in Kolkata on 31 May. After which he was taken to the hospital. KK had passed away before reaching the hospital.
