Voice of Global South Summit: ‘The summit will help solve the problems of the Global South’, said the Foreign Secretary

Voice of Global South Summit:
The Voice of Global South Summit concluded on Friday after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address. Meanwhile, Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra said that we have taken a unique initiative of the two-day Virtual South Summit. The theme of the summit was unity of voice and unity of purpose. The Foreign Secretary said that the challenges of food, fuel, fertilizer and other disruptions in the supply chain were discussed during the meeting.
Vinay Kwatra said that we often look at the problems of the Global South, the perspective of their problems and their development priorities often need to be adequately addressed in an established and relevant institutional framework. We are confident that this Summit will help fulfill that objective.
At the same time, PM Modi in his address to the concluding session of the summit said that the last two days have seen the participation of more than 120 developing countries in this summit. The Global South witnessed the largest ever virtual gathering. PM Modi said that I am honored to have your company in this concluding session.

In the Voice of Global South Summit, PM Modi said that the last 3 years have been very difficult. Especially for us developing countries, it has been very difficult. The challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, rising prices of fuel, fertilizers and food grains and rising geopolitical tensions have impacted our development efforts.
Earlier, while addressing the inaugural session on Thursday, PM Modi also mentioned various global challenges arising due to war and terrorism. PM Modi said that the world is currently passing through a crisis situation. It is difficult to predict how long this crisis will last. During his address, PM Modi expressed concern over rising prices of food, fuel and fertilisers, the economic impact of COVID-19 as well as natural disasters arising out of climate change.
