All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) President and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has started his two-day tour of Northeast Seemanchal region of Bihar on Saturday. Meanwhile, in Purnia, Asaduddin Owaisi accused Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of strengthening the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Addressing party workers at Baisi in Purnia, Owaisi said, “History will remember you (Nitish) for strengthening the BJP.”

In reference to the 2002 Gujarat riots, Asaduddin Owaisi said, “When Gujarat was burning, Nitish Kumar was the railway minister. If he thinks Majlis (AIMIM) is a party of Muslims, he should remember that he is a party of Kurmis and Kushwahas.” Can’t go ahead.

CM Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal-United and RJD is the ruling coalition party in Bihar, called the Grand Alliance.

On Nitish Kumar’s statement that AIMIM is only a party of Muslims, Owaisi said, ‘Nitish Kumar should look within himself. He has not yet come out from the shadow of Kurmi and Koeri castes in Bihar.

During this, Asaduddin Owaisi did not even spare RJD. “The people elected by the people were defeated by the money power used by the RJD leader,” he said.

Let us inform that in the 2020 assembly elections, AIMIM had won five seats in Seemanchal. This area is backward, with a high population of Muslims. Last year, four of them have gone to RJD.

Owaisi said, “Neither (Union Home Minister) Amit Shah nor Nitish Kumar raised the issues of Seemanchal’s development in their public meetings held in Purnia.” Owaisi raised the issue of Seemanchal Development Council (SDC) and said his party would continue to fight for a civil airport in Purnia, road connectivity and deal with floods in the area.

Muslims account for 30–70% of the population in various areas of Seemanchal, including the four districts of Purnea, Katihar, Araria and Kishanganj. The region has 24 assembly and four Lok Sabha seats, with 10 Muslim MLAs and one Muslim MP.
