Ashfak Ulla Khan Zoological Park has become a major center of tourist attraction in Gorakhpur. Har and Gauri are male and female rhinoceros. On March 17, both the rhinos were brought from Guwahati in Assam to Gorakhpur. Let us tell you that both the rhinos are only five-five years old. The climate of Gorakhpur is pleasing to both. Director of the zoo, Dr. H. Raja Mohan told that the parents of both the rhinos are from the forest. Rhinoceros normally eat 140 kg green fodder and soft leaves of the tree, 15 kg green vegetables and fruits and 3.5 kg gram bran. A rhinoceros eats 158.5 kg of green fodder, green vegetables, fruits and gram bran in a day. In such a situation, 317 kg of food is given daily for both the rhinos. Both of them like sugarcane very much.
