Talsila Raghuram of YSRC said that the padyatra is allowed only after providing the information sought by the police.
In Andhra Pradesh, the fight between the ruling YSRC and the opposition TDP seems to be intensifying. While TDP is not leaving a single opportunity to corner the ruling party, YSRC is shutting it down by giving a befitting reply. Senior YSRC party leader and MLC Talasila Raghuram has accused the TDP leadership of ‘yellow brigade’ not giving details sought by the DGP and creating unnecessary controversy about the Nara Lokesh padayatra. Raghuram claimed that Lokesh would end his padyatra midway after seeing public reaction to the implementation of the government’s welfare schemes.
Talsila Raghuram said that the padyatra is allowed only after providing the information sought by the police to allow the padyatra. He made it clear that the government has no objection in allowing anyone to undertake the padyatra. Raghuram alleged that Lokesh himself was worried about his prospects in the party after his father Chandrababu Naidu decided to go on a padayatra due to his father Chandrababu Naidu giving more priority to Jana Sena leader Pawan Kalyan.
YS Reddy’s padyatra was not allowed
Raghuram also pointed out that the police did not allow YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s padayatra three days before its launch in 2017. Jagan’s padyatra was allowed by the police only after giving the route map and other details sought by the police. He said it is very natural for the police to ask for details to make security arrangements. TDP can get the permission by providing the information sought by the DGP without any fuss.
People don’t even know Lokesh’s name
Raghuram joked that the YSRCP was worried about Lokesh’s proposed padayatra. He said Lokesh is neither the main opposition leader nor a crowd puller. He is just a former minister and has to become a former MLC. We believe that people do not even know the name of Lokesh. He said fear has no place in YSRCP’s DNA as it knows how to fight rivals directly as it has the support of the people.
Only TDP leaders are responsible for the death of 11 people.
Raghuram requested the DGP to take an undertaking from TDP leaders for any untoward incident during Lokesh’s proposed padayatra. He said that in the last one month, there were two incidents of stampedes during Naidu’s meetings in which only TDP leaders were responsible for the death of 11 people. TDP leaders should really behave with more responsibility and give full details of their padyatra to police to prevent such incidents from happening again.
